The Girls Next Door

I'm Back!

Hi Family & Friends! I know it sure has been a while since I have been online. Let me just say that I sure have missed you all! Don't worry, we will have internet at our house very soon so I will get some more pictures up so you can all see how much I've been growing.

Lots of things have been going on lately! As you know, Mommy started her new job at the hospital where she is working 3 nights a week. She loves it and the best part is - I get to spend all day with her! Things couldn't be better!

Our neighborhood pool finally opened up so Mommy and I have been spending lots of time there. I love swimming! I've already went under water 3 times (not by choice) - but it wasn't so bad! In the past month or so I have become a HUGE Elmo fan! Let's just say I dance and sing along to every song! Mommy & Daddy are probably getting sick of Elmo but not me!

Yes, as many of you are wondering, I'm saying LOTS of new things! Mommy & Daddy are trying to get me to sing the alphabet and count. I also make lots of animal noises too. OH! More big news, Mommy & Daddy have been trying the "potty training" thing with me the past 2 weeks! It seems like a pretty weird thing, I hear "Rylee wanna pee pee on the potty?" then we all run to my potty and I sit there while they stare at me waiting on something to happen. So I sit there and say "Pee Pee" then jump up and run to get a diaper. Maybe I'll figure out what their trying to get me to do eventually.

God Answers Prayers!!

Hi Family & Friends! Sorry no pictures today but I'll have some up soon! Just wanted to give everyone a quick little update!

So, today is my mommy's last day at work! She starts a new job at the hospital, MosesCone, working 3 nights a week! That means she gets to stay home with me! I don't know who is more excited, me or Mommy!!! After many prayers, Mommy landed a really great job and really looks forward to getting started! Next week she starts training, the position is a Nursing Secretary/Monitor Tech. She will be responsible for watching and measuring EKG charts as well as keeping up with Doctors notes for patients' records. Sounds too complicated for me, but we are really super excited!

Thanks to all who have said a prayer that Mommy would be able to stay home with me. God has truly blessed us and we are so thankful!

Gammy & PawPaw came to visit me yesterday - they got me this really cute new butterfly chair - but instead of sitting in it, I push it around.

I also emptied out Gammy coin purse for my piggy bank. Poor Gammy - I left her with a few pennies.

Now time to fill up my piggy bank...

Girlfriends

This past Sunday - I got to spend some time with one of the coolest chicks I know, Taylor. We greeted each other with hugs! (well... Taylor hugged me)

Then we shared some snacks....and had a staring contest...

Then we played with toys and socialized with our family...

And sadly, our time ended too quickly...so we gave hugs and kisses until next time!

Today is gonna be Hot!!

Just spending some morning playtime in my room! Today it's supposed to get up to 80 degrees!! Daddy better remember to lather me up with sunscreen!

Hi Family and Friends! Just wanted to let everyone know how I've been doing since I got my ear tubes. I have been walking around and talking a lot more now! My ears feel great! With the warmer weather approaching - Mommy, Daddy and Aunt Heather have been playing with me outdoors.
Above you'll see I'm having breakfast, a big ol yummy Blueberry muffin! That's our Dogs Dixie and Sammy you see in the other pictures. Love you all and miss you!

A Day in the life of...ME!

For those of you who don't know - now I spend my days at home with my favorite aunt - AUNT HEATHER! No more day care! Yippee! So to begin our days - Mommy feeds me breakfast - then she heads off to work. Next Aunt Heather and I sing songs, read books, play games, walk around the house, and play my piano - I'm a lot to keep up with, but my Aunt Heather does a great job!

Then it's time for lunch - Mommy makes a special menu for me for the week and prepares each thing the night before - Aunt Heather serves it up and we have lunch together. Here I am having some chicken...
Then it's time for my nap - I usually squeeze in a 1 and a half hour nap then I'm up and ready for snack time!
Then we play until Mommy gets home.

I'm clearly the center of attention because every evening when everyone is home - we play and play and play! It's the greatest. I especially love my books - as I always have - especially one in particular, "Fat Cat" - I'll share it with you sometime.

Also I'm really into dancing - here I am busting a move while everyone laughs. Then I'm off to take my bath (where I spend a great deal of time soaking my parents), get lotioned up, hair brushed, teeth brushed, practice walking, kiss my fish Finny goodnight, read a book, have a swig of water, and around 8:00 every night - I'm asleep!

Really....life just couldn't be better!

Look at me walking!! I don't know who is prouder, Mama or Daddy or ME! I'm just getting started, but last night (Monday) - I walked all the way across my room!!! Things sure do look different from up here!

Ear Tube Time!!

A quick prayer before my surgery! I can't wait to have this fluid outta my ears!!

I get anesthesia too!!!

I really enjoyed climbing all over the hospital bed while I waited for my surgery to begin. I didn't cry once. I quietly went to the nurse, they gave me anesthesia, inserted the tubes, and in 9 minutes I was back in my Mama's arms! Now Dr. Bates says to keep an eye out for fluid, but I should be feeling better by tomorrow. I sure do look funny with these cotton balls hanging out of my ears. I'm getting lots of rest today as I stay at home with Daddy.

Some updates about Me!

Hi Family and Friends,
Springtime is here! Sorry we have been so busy lately that we haven't been keeping in touch like we should. I miss you all so much!!!!

As many of you know, I have had quite a time with ear aches, so Monday morning at 7:30, I will be having surgery on my ears. During this surgery, small tubes called tympanostomy tubes will be placed in my eardrums to ventilate the area behind my eardrum and keep the pressure equalized. Earaches are definetly NO FUN! I'm going to feel so much better soon!

Other than that, I'm my usual happy little self. I'm saying lots of new words now! Here are some I say often: mama, dada, bad, dog, bye bye, baby. Mommy & Daddy work on sign language with me too, I guess they just want me to be really smart. I absolutely love books, Mommy already got me my first library card!

Mommy has had an interview at the hospital to work the weekend night shift so she can stay home with me!! So, everyone please say your prayers, because that would be a dream come true to stay home and learn and play with my mama!

In the morning, I'm going to my first Kindermusik - it's for toddlers and kids to listen, play and dance to music - I'm sure my Mama will post lots of pictures!

Oh and let me just say a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY to cousin Taylor who just celebrated her 1st birthday yesterday!! See how cute she is below..
